Why choose a traveling notary?
Businesses who offer notary public services generally operate during regular business hours. For most people, finding time to look for a location, drive there, and hope the notary public is not busy is not an option. However, if you can travel during normal business hours to a nearby notary, then this is your best option since they may be able to do the work for less.
I offer convenient, professional, and high-quality service. I am willing to travel and meet with you. Whether it is to your home, office, etc. There are no hidden costs. I will tell you in advance exactly what I charge, including travel expenses. Since I travel to you, it may be easier for you to gather all your signers and documents at one location.
Pricing
As a State of California Notary Public, fully commissioned by the Secretary of State, I offer my services to you. I am willing to travel to your location. I am licensed by the State of California to provide notary services anywhere within the State of California.
I charge a standard fee of $20 for the first signature, $10 for each additional signature, per individual notary service, plus the travel expense to your location. The traveling fee is $3 per mile, calculated roundtrip. The traveling fee is a cost that is in addition to the notary fees stated above.
I ask that you schedule an appointment in advance, and have all the documents and person(s) in attendance to make the notarization as steadfast as possible.
Please pay by cash or check. There will be a $25 fee for all returned checks.
Notarization fees are governed by the California Secretary of State, and may be reduced under circumstances as described in, but not limited to, California Government Code 6100 and 8211.
Legal Advice
I am not authorized to practice law. I am not an attorney, lawyer, immigration officer, etc and state law prohibits me from offering legal advice or practicing law. I cannot complete forms, as it is your responsibility. Please do not sign any documents you wish to have notarized without a notary present.
Please remember that notaries are impartial and prohibited by law from choosing certificates, preparing documents, or providing advice.
Identification
It is extremely important to have proper identification for any signature notarization. Acceptable forms of identification must be current, government issued, have a photo, signature and physical description. For example, a state-issued drivers license or non-drivers license/ID, military ID, passport). Please have a valid form of identification for each signer. Please contact me to see if your form of identification is acceptable, as I must be able to identify the signers.
All signers must be present. If the document to be notarized requires more than your signature, please make sure that each person is present with the required identification as well.
Know your Document
Know what type of notarization you need - an acknowledgement, jurat, or other - prior to your arrival. This is especially important if the notarial certificate is not attached to your document. Please ask the organization or person requiring the notarization to provide you with the notarial statement or to advise the type of notarial statement needed. Because a notary is not an attorney, notaries cannot decide the type of notarization because the type of notarization can have important legal ramifications.
Mark the pages to be notarized!
Before you arrive, mark the page(s) that needs to be notarized if you are bringing in a large document. Please pay special attention to any blank spaces on the page to be notarized. If there are blank spaces on the page to be notarized, please put a line through the space or write “NA” (not applicable). If there are misspellings, please make changes on the document.
Note: if you need a gold medallion signature, please contact a financial institution.
